I founded Highline Psychiatry to create a physician-led practice centered on comprehensive evaluations, individualized treatment, and meaningful continuity of care. The practice provides psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults and is being developed as a selective group of highly trained psychiatrists.
I provide clinical and administrative leadership for an Article 31 community mental health clinic serving the Sunset Park area of Brooklyn. My work includes direct patient care and supervision of psychiatrists, psychiatry residents, and psychiatric nurse practitioners.
I evaluate and treat patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies at Jamaica Hospital’s Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program. I also supervise psychiatry residents and medical students in diagnostic assessment, safety evaluation, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making.
During my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship, I provided overnight and weekend coverage in the pediatric behavioral health emergency department. This work involved comprehensive psychiatric and safety evaluations, collaboration with parents and families, and decisions regarding treatment and disposition.
I provided outpatient psychiatric care in a federally qualified health center serving the Midwood and broader Brooklyn community. I worked collaboratively with psychologists, social workers, and mental health counselors to provide multidisciplinary care.
I designed and taught graduate-level clinical psychopharmacology to psychology doctoral and master’s students. The course addressed the neurobiology of psychiatric illness, evidence-based psychopharmacology, and the critical evaluation of psychiatric research.
My academic work has included research in psychopharmacogenetics, first-episode psychosis, hereditary retinal disease, clinical toxicology, and behavioral neuroscience.
